West Nyack Community and City Information

West Nyack is a hamlet located in the town of Clarkstown in Rockland County, New York. It is located about 30 miles away from New York City.

West Nyack is home to the Palisades Center, the 12th largest mall in the United States and the second largest in the tri-state area. The four story center includes over 400 stores, Imax/Loews movie theaters, Ice Rink, and dozens of diverse restaurants and places to eat and be entertained.

According to the United States Census Bureau, as of 2000 West Nyack has a population of more than 3,000 residents. The hamlet has a total land area of 2.9 square miles. The village is located at an elevation of about 90 feet above sea level.

The racial demographics of West Nyack are 88.03% White, 1.98% African American, 0.03% Native American, 7.59% Asian, 0.98% from other races, and 1.40% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race are 5.58% of the population.

West Nyack has more than 1,500 households, many of which are affluent. The median income for a household in the hamlet is $98,931, and the median income for a family is $106,576.

West Nyack is home to Clarkstown High School South, one of two high schools in the Clarkstown Central School District.

West Nyack is also home to the Manhattan Woods Golf Club.
